Mandela Warriors FC win friendly in Shatale
The Warriors triumphed in their game against Deco United on January 19.
The Mandela Warriors’ U13s played a friendly game against Deco United at Shatale Stadium on January 19.
The aim of the match was to prepare for the second week of the development league, which is scheduled for February 1.
The young Warriors took the lead after one of Deco United’s defenders handled the ball in the penalty box and the referee awarded a penalty. The penalty was slotted home by Glen Nonyane.

The Warriors fielded such young players as Sinethemba Molimi (8), Keletso Mashego (9) and Mabena Malapane (9), and they did not disappoint. Progress Mashego, the league’s secretary, said the aim was to give the players game time so they can showcase their talents.

In the second half, the Warriors increased their lead through the boot of Lazwi Mashego. However, Deco United introduced their speedy winger, Lesego Nonyane, who scored a consolation goal.
The game ended with 2-1 in favour of the Warriors.
