Sivutsa Stars clash with witbank Spurs on Sunday

Soccer lovers to watch the upcoming hot games between Sivutsa Stars and Witbank Stars at KaBokweni stadium this weekend.

The only two provincial teams campaigning in the National First Division (NFD), Sivutsa Stars and Witbank Spurs, will face off at the KaBokweni Stadium on Sunday.

This NFD league encounter promises to be a spectacle following both teams’ impressive displays over the past weekend.

Sivutsa Stars managed a point on the road against Baroka FC, while Witbank Spurs collected all three points at home against Thanda Royal Zulu. Both teams have only met twice during the past season, with Sivutsa winning the return leg at the KaNyamazane Stadium by 3-1 after Spurs had taken the first round at home, 2-0 at the Puma Stadium.

The Stars boss, Derrick Khoza told Mpumalanga News that the team had worked through their weekend’s goalless draw against Baroka and were now focusing solely on Spurs.

“Taking from our past weekend’s fixture, I am certain that we are going somewhere. The boys played with unity and produced entertaining football, which is a sign of better things to come.

“With regard to our clash with Spurs, I want to believe that the boys want to begin the season on a high note and start collecting more points now, especially when playing at home in front of our supporters.

I am glad that we are starting with tough games such as these, because we will be able to rate ourselves and quickly fix areas that need attention,” said Khoza.

The game kicks off at 15:00 and entrance is free.
