Table tennis team to be selected

Sports organisation hosts sports tourney to selected a provincial team that will represent Mpumalanga.

As part of developing table tennis in our communities, Reality South Africa, a non-governmental organisation which deals with sport, education, environment and rural development in Msogwaba, in collaboration with Nashua Mobile, will host a Nashua Lowveld Table Tennis Champions League at the KaMhlushwa Community Hall on Saturday.

This Mpumalanga News reporter learnt that it would be a day where the Ehlanzeni team would be selected for the provincial and South African championships.

The games are part of the regional league and it’s a four-tier round which will include players from 14 to 17 years, as well as seniors and veterans.

“This league is part of preparing the participants for the provincial and South African championships. So far our team have performed very well even though we are playing under difficult conditions due to lack of resources and sponsorship.

“We always do our best to put our province on the map and we’d like to thank Nashua Mobile for organising something for us,” said the president of the organisation, Sifiso Mlambo.

He stated that some of the players who did well in the province included Lungelo Mokoena, the 2013 Ehlanzeni and Mpumalanga under 14 boys champ, and Vuyo Myanga who obtained second position in the 2013 under 14 girls at the South Africa Schools Championship in Bloemfontein.
