The eight-man team scooped medals and trophies at the Taekwando International South Africa Championship in Pretoria.

They participated in various categories and managed to bring back four gold medals, three silver, four bronze and two trophies.

The coach Job Magagula said, “We are pleased with the performance of our members and we are looking forward to developing clubs in the province and introducing tae-kwan-do to the community.”

He added that they were also looking forward to hosting the first Mpumalanga Taekwando International Championship in Nelspruit this year.

He emphasised that this sport was not just about fighting or protection but also one of morals and discipline. Some members received Taekwando International certificates directly from England, which meant they were internationally recognised as masters.
