Murder suspect arrested after seven years on the run
A murder accused who has been on the run for seven years, was finally arrested last week.
KZN SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, said Sifiso Nxumalo (31) was nabbed in Gauteng and is currently in custody.
Nxumalo stands accused of killing two men in Zululand in 2013 – Mavela Ncube (23) and Ali Narsill (35).
Ncube was stabbed three times at a tavern in Block B in Mondlo. He was taken to a clinic where he later died.
Nxumalo was arrested shortly after the incident, but was granted bail.
Later that year he struck again, allegedly killing Narsill at a shop.
Nxumalo fled the area and has been on the run since.
He appeared in the Nquthu Magistrate’s Court last week and is expected to apply for bail on Wednesday.
