KZN businessman’s bail application postponed in trafficking case
An uMhlanga man, whose identity remains protected because the allegations involve sexual offences, is due back in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on August 25.
An uMhlanga businessman arrested on allegations of human trafficking and kidnapping made a brief appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today (August, 12), reports Northglen News.
The matter was postponed to August 25 for a formal bail application.
The businessman cannot be named at this stage as the charges relate to alleged sexual offences. His identity may only be published once he has pleaded.
According to media reports, the KZN Hawks executed a J50 warrant of arrest at the businessman’s upmarket uMhlanga home on Tuesday, August 11.
The businessman’s name has previously been mentioned at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, which is investigating allegations of corruption within the SAPS and the criminal justice system.
