Umhlanga man arrested over alleged human trafficking, kidnapping

A businessman has been arrested on allegations of human trafficking and kidnapping following a Hawks operation at his Umhlanga home.

AN uMhlanga businessman has been arrested for alleged human trafficking and kidnapping.

The businessman’s name has previously been mentioned at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, which is investigating allegations of corruption within the SAPS and the criminal justice system.

His name was also reportedly raised during the SAPS ad hoc committee proceedings in Parliament.

According to media reports, the KZN Hawks reportedly executed a J50 warrant of arrest at the businessman’s upmarket home in Umhlanga on Tuesday night, August 11.

He is expected to appear in court this morning.

The circumstances surrounding the allegations against the businessman have not yet been confirmed by police.
