Fun and easy homemade Father’s Day crafts

When dad opens a homemade gift the kids have made, he'll surely know just how loved he is!

Even the daddy who claims he has everything will appreciate these thoughtful homemade Father’s Day crafts. Stuck for what to give the man in your life for Father’s Day? You’re in luck! We have compiled the best DIY crafts dad will love, and best of all, the kids will love making them, too!

You’re out of this world photo frame

What you’ll need

  • 4 x 13.5cm x 6.5cm wooden blocks
  • 2 x 12.5cm x 7cm wooden blocks
  • Crayons
  • Coloured paper or cardboard
  • Scissors
  • All-purpose glue
  • Felt in various colours of your choice

Method

  1. Glue the wooden blocks together.
  2. Paint the blocks blue or any colour of your choice and leave them to dry.
  3. Cut the cloud from blue felt and write your message on it with a permanent marker.
  4. Cut the letters D.A.D. from the dark blue felt.
  5. Cut the round circles (planets) from the purple, black, and orange felt.
  6. Print and cut out the rocket ship template and let your little ones colour it in.
  7. Print the star templates out and cut them from gold or yellow cardboard.
  8. Once the paint has dried on the picture frame, paste all the pictures and letters on the frame with the all-purpose glue.
  9. Print out a photo of your kids with dad and paste the photo on strong cardboard.
  10. Paste the photo to the back of the frame.
  11. Press two thumb tacks in the middle, back of the frame, and tie a pretty string or ribbon around them to hang the frame.

Father’s Day cup card

What you’ll need

  • Black, gold, and green cardboard
  • Glue
  • Double-sided tape
  • Scissors

Method

  1. Fold your A4 black cardboard in half.
  2. Print out the cup template, paste it on the gold cardboard, and cut it out.
  3. Paste the gold cup in the middle of the black card.
  4. Cut out the letter 1, the letters N.O. and D.A.D. from the green cardboard
  5. Stick double-sided tape to the back of the letters and stick them on the card.
  6. Write your special message for dad inside.

Father’s Day shirt card

What you’ll need

  • White and black cardboard
  • Patterned paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Method

  1. Fold your A4 white cardboard in half.
  2. Print and cut out the tie template below.
  3. Paste the tie on the black cardboard and cut it out.
  4. Paste the tie in the middle of the card.
  5. Cut a double triangle piece from the same patterned paper and glue it at the top of the collar.
  6. Write a special message inside for dad.
