Start your day with apple cinnamon oats with chia seeds and honey
Apples bring vitamin C and antioxidants, while walnuts add healthy fats that support your heart and brain.
This quick and healthy recipe, compliments of B-well Foods, brings together everyday staples you probably already have in your kitchen: oats, eggs, milk, apples and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup. The texture is soft and pudding-like, while the toasted walnuts add just the right amount of crunch. It’s naturally sweetened with fruit and a touch of syrup, making it a great choice if you’re trying to avoid processed sugar. Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups rolled oats (170 g)
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds (optional)
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon baking powder

- In a bowl, combine the rolled oats, cinnamon, chia seed, baking powder, salt, maple syrup, apple or honey sauce, eggs, milk, B-Well Canola oil, and vanilla. Stir until combined.
- Fold in the apples and toasted walnuts.
- Transfer batter to the prepared dish. Top with a few chopped toasted walnuts.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the centre is set.
- Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
- Top with yoghurt and an optional drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
Note: To make toasted walnuts in the oven, preheat the oven to 190°C. Place the walnuts on a small sheet pan. Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning. Once walnuts are fragrant and golden brown, remove from the oven.
