Alberton woman’s body in car: Multiple stab wounds, bloodstains found at home

Authorities are piecing together events leading up to the death of a woman who was discovered in the boot of her car in Brackenhurst.

The discovery of a woman’s body in a car at a shopping centre in Alberton on Friday, led to the arrest of her husband yesterday. Police have linked the woman to a missing person’s report and bloodstains were later found at her home.

Alberton SAPS confirmed that on Friday, a woman reported her friend missing at the Alberton police station. The missing person’s details were officially registered, reports Alberton Record.

Later that day, at around 18:00, Brackendowns SAPS recovered a vehicle at the shopping centre with the woman’s body inside the boot. The car was registered to the missing person.

Following the discovery, Alberton SAPS and CPS Security visited the victim’s residence, where a friend of the husband was found parked at the gate.

Investigators discovered bloodstains inside the house and identified additional witnesses who were interviewed.

The husband was traced throughout the night and, when he arrived at the property the following morning, he was arrested for murder.

Police confirmed the victim had suffered multiple stab wounds, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The suspect is expected to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of murder.
