Civil Aviation Authority investigating West Coast Airshow crash

Visitors to the airshow looked on in horror as the Impala aircraft crashed this afternoon. The incident is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The Civil Aviation Authority’s Accident and Incident Investigations Division (AIID) confirmed that they are investigating the crash of an Impala aeroplane at the West Coast Airshow this afternoon.

The crash occurred during a live demonstration at the airshow this afternoon, shocking onlookers.

The AIID said the crash site has been secured pending the arrival of the investigation team.

The division said it will provide a public update from the scene if it is deemed necessary.
