Covid-19: Confirmed cases in Mpumalanga edge over 300 as of June 16

South Africa has a total of 76 334 confirmed Covid-19 cases according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Tuesday, June 16.

A total of 343 of those cases have been recorded in Mpumalanga. According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, 138 recoveries have been recorded to date. There has been one Covid-19 related death recorded in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.

The number of positive cases in Mpumalanga can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 3 cases and 3 recoveries
• City of Mbombela: 56 cases, 28 recoveries, and one death
• Nkomazi: 34 cases and 23 recoveries
• Thaba Chweu: 15 cases and 6 recoveries

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 4 cases and 2 recoveries
• Dipaliseng: 1 case and 0 recoveries
• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 18 cases and 17 recoveries
• Govan Mbeki: 66 cases and 20 recoveries
• Lekwa: 12 cases and 8 recoveries
• Mkhondo: 1 case and no recoveries
• Msukaligwa: 2 cases and 1 recovery

Nkangala District

• Dr JS Moroka: 3 cases and 1 recovery
• Emakhazeni: 5 cases and 2 recoveries
• Emalahleni: 81 cases and 15 recoveries
• Steve Tshwete: 33 cases and 7 recoveries
• Thembisile Hani: 7 cases and 4 recoveries
• Victor Khanye: 2 cases and 1 recovery
