Don’t argue with officers, says JMPD spokesperson
The Johannesburg Metro Police department (JMPD) has responded to the altercation between its member and a motorist saying under no circumstances should a motorist argue with metro police officers.
This after the officer stopped the motorist for allegedly jumping a red robot.
Clive Naidoo, the motorist, posted the video of the conversation between him and the officer. The female officer can be heard making sarcastic and racial remarks to the motorist who had told her that he pays her salary through his tax.

“I pay your salaries. I pay tax,” Naidoo can be heard saying to the officer.
“I pay tax, and my salary pays you. I also pay tax,” the female officer responded.
The video has since gone viral.
JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said: “Firstly, when a motorist is stopped by a metro police officer and issued a fine, the motorist should under no circumstances argue with the officer on duty. The motorist should just accept the fine. If the motorist feels that the fine was issued unjustly, they can go contest the fine or request a cancelation thereof at any of the Metro police traffic offices,” Rosebank Killarney Gazette reported.
“Secondly, if misconduct by a metro police officer is witnessed, it should be reported to the metro police internal investigation unit, who will look into said incidents and reprimand such officers if deemed necessary,” Minnaar added.
The City Of Joburg later apologised to Naidoo on their twitter account:
We apologize to Clive for any offence. A formal complaint can be lodged at JMPD Internal Affairs 011 490- 1797^TK https://twitter.com/ironfistAsh/status/638413522045661184 …
Meanwhile, people took to Twitter with reactions to the video:
