Gauteng Covid-19 active cases at 28 349 as total confirmed cases hit 209 648
Some 525 new cases have been recorded.

Gauteng’s overall Covid-19 positive cases climbed to 209 648 with 181 299 recoveries and 3 572 deaths thus far, according to figures published by the Department of Health.
This saw the province to have about 28 349 active cases.
The Gauteng province recorded 525 new cases on Sunday.
The Department of Health said out of 125 244 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19), 103 081 people have completed the 10 days monitoring period, with no symptoms reported and were de-isolated.
The number of hospitalised people due to Covid-19 in the province stood at 2 844.
Breakdown per district of cases and recoveries:
- Johannesburg: 84 018 cases and 77 611 recoveries
- Ekurhuleni: 47 186 cases and 45 046 recoveries
- Tshwane: 45 213 cases and 37 258 recoveries
- Sedibeng: 14 209 cases and 10 362 recoveries
- West Rand: 13 420 cases and 11 022 recoveries
