Gauteng Covid-19 cases climb to 20 822
Number of confirmed cases increases by 1 844 since Saturday.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stood at 20 822 with 5 306 recoveries and 122 deaths on Sunday, according to a statement published by the Department of Health on Monday.
The department said out of 22 576 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person tested positive for Covid-19), 15 119 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period with no symptoms reported and were de-isolated.
The department said 882 people were currently hospitalised in public and private facilities.

– Johannesburg: 10 320 cases and 2 924 recoveries
– Ekurhuleni: 4 168 cases and 1 159 recoveries
– Tshwane: 3 166 cases and 690 recoveries
– Sedibeng: 675 cases and 110 recoveries
– West Rand: 1 439 cases and 423 recoveries
