Murder suspect apprehended at OR Tambo International Airport
A suspect, wanted in connection with a businessman’s murder, was arrested as he was about to board a flight to Addis Ababa.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Sandton businessman in December 2023.
According to an article published by Sandton Chronicle, the businessman was shot dead outside his home on December 7 that year.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, the suspect was apprehended by a specialised team of detectives from the SAPS Serious and Violent Crime Investigations Unit.
“The arrest took place at OR Tambo International Airport yesterday, just as the suspect was preparing to board a flight to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,” says Nevhuhulwi.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court this week.
Investigations are ongoing, says Nevhuhulwi.
