Pedestrian decapitated and driver killed in Pretoria accident

The driver of the vehicle lost control after hitting the pedestrian and hit a truck that was travelling in the opposite direction.

A decapitated body of a pedestrian was found on the N4 near the R101 bridge after he was hit by a vehicle travelling east on the N4 over the weekend.

“The driver of the vehicle was also declared dead at the scene,” Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said.

“Firefighters, paramedics and forensic pathology services personnel had to search for the dismembered body parts of the pedestrian.”

The driver of the truck escaped unharmed.

In another incident, a man died after the car he was driving in, overturned trapping him underneath in Mmakaunyana, north of Pretoria.

It is believed the man lost control of the car while driving on Bushveld Road on Sunday

“City of Tshwane emergency firefighters were called to the scene to help paramedics recover the body of the male patient underneath the vehicle that had collapsed on him after overturning,” said Mabaso.

“We call on motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution on the roads by adhering to traffic regulations and safety protocols to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.”
