President Cyril Ramaphosa to address the nation on state capture report

The president is expected to address the nation tonight in connection with the Zondo Commission's report.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation tonight to announce government’s plans to implement the recommendations made in the Zondo Commission’s report on state capture.

“The president will utilise the address to outline to the nation steps government is taking to implement the recommendations of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture, Corruption and Fraud in the Public Sector, including Organs of State,” a statement by the Presidency reads.

The Citizen reported that Ramaphosa has submitted his action plan for the implementation of the state capture report to Parliament and will be making the response publicly available.

Ramaphosa was mandated by a court order to table the state capture report and his action plan to Parliament within four months of receiving it.
