Sasolburg prison warder arrested with thousands of rands worth of dagga
Authorities seize 803 ziplock bags after receiving a tip-off about a dealing at a correctional facility in the Free State.
A 52-year-old correctional services official faces drug dealing charges after police caught him in uniform at the Sasolburg facility on Saturday (August 8).
At around 14:00 Sasolburg police received a complaint regarding a warder allegedly dealing drugs at the Sasolburg Correctional Centre, reports Sedibeng Ster.
Upon arrival at the correctional centre, police were directed to a man wearing a correctional services uniform. The suspect was allegedly found in possession of and dealing in dagga on the premises. Police seized 803 ziplock bags of dagga with an estimated street value of R8 050.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of possession of dagga and dealing in dagga.
