Seven busted for selling cigarettes in Centurion

Arrests follow an anonymous tip-off from the public regarding the selling of cigarettes in various areas around Centurion.

Tshwane metro police arrested seven people in Centurion for selling illicit cigarettes worth R400 000.

The metro said in a statement they received an anonymous tip-off from the public regarding the selling of cigarettes and other tobacco products in various areas around Centurion.

This led to the seven suspects’ arrest.

Thanks to the tip-off, two more people were arrested under the Medicine Act for selling schedule 4 medication by metro police’s K9 unit.

Monitor Net spokesperson JP le Roux advised residents to contact their nearest police stations if they witness anything suspicious in their community.

“If residents report suspicious crimes they witness, they might help us get the criminals who are making rounds in local communities.

“Also report it to your nearest police station so that they can take action very quickly,” said JP le Roux.
