The charges of misconduct that World Rugby filed against SA Rugby and its director of rugby, Rassie Erasmus, after the controversial so-called ‘Rassie-video’ went viral, this week resulted in both Erasmus and SA Rugby being found guilty and heavy penalties being imposed.

Pretoria man in coma after being shot in head by police

 

Mixed reaction was evoked this week when a video of a shooting at a Muldersdrift lodge went viral. Len Cloete of VO2 Max Fitness Centre in Rietvalleirand, Pretoria, was shot in the head by a policeman during an altercation at the lodge.

Ramaphosa declares mourning period for FW de Klerk

President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared a national mourning period for late former president and former deputy president FW de Klerk. Government will also host a state memorial service at a later stage.

The World Health Organisation has updated its global death estimates. Data is available for 183 countries for the years 2000, 2010, 2015 and 2019. It is categorised according to region, age, sex and cause of death.

This data is likely to be the last major update not to feature Covid-19 statistics.
