Watch: KES, St Teresa’s School back the Boks
As the 2023 Rugby World Cup rapidly approaches, Bok fever is running wild on TikTok.
If your school is loud and proud in support of the men in green and gold, who are set to defend their Rugby World Cup title in France, why not show them?
Schools across the country are getting on the TikTok train and taking part in Caxton Local Media’s war cry challenge.
After ‘Faf de Klerk’ and Laerskool Bergland accepted Laerskool Nelspruit’s challenge, following their war cry video, St Teresa’s School in Rosebank, Johannesburg, became the next primary school to raise their voices.

They are not the only Johannesburg school to rally behind the defending world champions. Jeppe High School for Boys was the first school to publicly take on the challenge. When they posted their video, they dared their fiercest rivals, King Edward VII School, to show their Bok spirit too.
KES, as they are affectionately known, did not hold back and brought their A-game:
@bedfordview.edenv King Edward VII School and Caxton Local Media invite SA schools to join them in showing their support of the Springboks in the 2023 Rugby World Cup. The Joburg school boys showed their support of our men in green and gold, and more specifically Old Ed’s boy and Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx by performing a chant before the Springboks’ first RWC match against Scotland on Sunday. #MalcolmMarx #KES4Bokke #Caxton4Bokke #StrongerTogether #Bokke #Springboks #RWC2023 @Kes Boys @Springboks.rugby @Rugby World Cup ♬ original sound – Bedfordview Edenvale News
The challenge isn’t over
Although kick-off for the Boks’ first match is fast approaching, there’s plenty of time for your school to get on board. Simply publish a version of your school’s war cry on TikTok and other social media platforms, and remember to include #StrongerTogether, #Caxton4Bokke and your school’s own hashtags.
“South Africans watched in awe as the Springboks spectacularly defeated arch-rivals New Zealand in a Rugby World Cup warm-up match recently. What better way to spur them on and express our immense pride than by saturating TikTok with videos of our schools backing the Boks?” asks Caxton Local Media group editor Irma Green.
“If your school wants the Webb Ellis Cup to come home again, turn up the gees and show the world just how mighty the Boks’ support base is!”
