Gang derails gate, breaks into Durban house

Neighbours said they alerted authorities about the break-in when they heard a loud bang.

Investigations are ongoing after a gang of robbers broke into a Shelbourne Avenue home in La Lucia, Durban.

The suspects ransacked the La Lucia home within a few minutes on Sunday.

According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the suspects derailed the gate to gain access to the property, Northglen News reported.

“They smashed in the stable door of the kitchen and stole a number of items, including a flat screen TV, a printer, alcohol and other household items.”

“We believe the suspects used a vehicle in the break-in. Unfortunately none of the neighbours saw anything but heard a loud, banging noise. That’s when they called for help,” he said.
