CNS Reporter

Throwing away thousands of litres of alcohol may bring tears to some people’s eyes.

Lieut-Col Paul Mathebula pours alcohol down a hole at the Benoni Police Station.

For the police, it was the last phase of operations that were recently held in the Ekurhuleni Central Cluster when they searched a liquor store, Benoni City Times reports.

Several establishments that were not compliant with necessary permits, such as liquor licences, were targeted.

Thousands of bottles of alcohol were seized in Boksburg North, Crystal Park and Windmill Park, in Boksburg, and filled five garages at the Benoni Police Station.

The goods were discarded at the Benoni police station when several police men and women poured the alcohol into a hole dug on the station’s premises.
