WATCH: Furious students shut down University of Mpumalanga

Among the demands by students is that some of the executive members be fired.

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) is at a standstill following another protest by the students, Mpumalanga News reports.

It is alleged that an illegal catering company was appointed, and the National Student Financial Aid Scheme(NSFAS) has not been paid out.

Last month, the university was shut down after students demanded that the current service provider responsible for catering be removed from the campus.

Their demands also included the firing of some of the university’s executive members. A briefing is currently in progress for students.
