‘Drunk’ driver due in court after killing four people

The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries from the accident.


The driver of the vehicle that was involved in a crash in which four people died has been formally charged with driving under the influence, culpable homicide and driving the vehicle without consent.

Four people died and two were treated for injuries after a car plowed into them on Jan Smuts Avenue in the early hours of Sunday, Randburg Sun reported.

Provincial police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said of the two injured, one was treated on the scene and another was taken to hospital.

He added the six victims had been seated on the pavement when the accident took place.

The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

He will be appearing in court this week.
