Clegg brings his story home

After a very successful stint at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Johnny Clegg is set to also tell the story of his life as a South African at home.


‘A South African Story’ is a show about the legendary singer-songwriter’s life and the many experiences that influenced his music. It showcases various forms of dance that influenced him and is supported by visuals from his personal archives never seen before. The production includes some of his hits, special guest artists, as well as some intimate unplugged moments.

Johnny Clegg has is one of South Africa’s most famous exports. Apart from his musical success, Clegg is also a respected anthropologist, academic, and activist. He was a tireless campaigner against the injustice of apartheid South Africa and remains an active social activist and fervent patriot.

‘A South African Story’ will be at the Montecasino Teatro (Teatro?) in Johannesburg from Friday, 29 November to Sunday, 1 December.
