The vehicle was forced to a standstill, and explosives were used to blow open the side of the vehicle.
A cash-in-transit vehicle was blown open near Tembisa on Monday evening when about 15 heavily armed men stole an unknown amount of money.
According to News24, the men, travelling in nine vehicles, open fired at the cash-in-transit vehicle that was travelling back from a nearby shopping centre.
The vehicle was forced to a standstill, and explosives were used to blow open the side of the vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
