Make way for parodies

Regardless of our backgrounds or circumstances there is no denying the fact that people love music, and there is nothing more rewarding that taking a song you love and making it your own. Enter the parody...

Content sharing websites like YouTube have made it possible for people to express themselves online in a way our parents never dreamed possible.

Approximately 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, and of them music videos are the clear favourite. From official music videos, concerts captured by fans, covers of popular songs to videos of lyrics, there is more than enough content to keep just about every genre of music lover amused for hours.

Of all the types of music videos on YouTube, however, there is one that is encouraging creative competition and expression. Although it’s difficult to pin point exactly where the trend started, the flurry that follow the release of new music videos sure is entertaining.

We found some of the best parodies of this summer’s hottest songs.

Beyonce  7/11

Queen Bey should step aside, Boyonce is doing the 7/11 now.

The boys can be seen doing the signature moves, spinning around on a chair and flexing a la Beyonce, and no, there was no spilling of alcohol in the making of this video.

Taylor Swift  – Blank Space

Taylor’s hit gets a mommy makeover and had us pushing repeat.

Meghan Trainor – All about that bass

We love this witty parody about writer’s block. Why didn’t Meghan think of this?

Pitbull – Fireball

And a rather shady version of Fireball renamed  Unfireable. If you’re not a Pitbull fan, you’ll love it.

Iggy  Azalea – Fancy

Move over single ladies, this one is for those rocking a ring on their left hand.

This is for everyone titled Mrs.

Good luck getting these versions out of your head.
