Naked body of woman found floating in stream

She was found with stab wounds in her back, thighs and her bum.

A case of murder has been opened after the discovery of the naked body of a woman with stab wounds in her back, thighs and her bum in Sebokeng, on the East Rand.

Zone 3 and Zone 6 residents could not believe their eyes on Thursday morning when the naked body of a young woman was found floating in a stream nearby, Sedibeng Ster reported.

A young woman who wanted to remain anonymous said she was walking her siblings to school when she noticed something strange in the water (stream).

“Upon approaching the bridge I saw body parts surfacing above the water, and then I realised that it was a body.

“I tried to call the police several times, while trying to get my siblings to school without noticing the corpse,” said the young woman.

Many angry onlookers shouted: “This nonsense must come to an end! Our sisters are killed like dogs, and the police do nothing as no arrests are made!”

Evaton police spokesperson Captain Aubrey Moopeloa confirm a case of murder has been opened.

“She is suspected to be around 23-years of age. A knife was also found about two metres from the body,” said Moopeloa.

He further stated the corpse had a gold tooth and dreadlocks, and asked anybody who had lost a loved one fitting the description to come to them with the information.
