Mother awakes from 4-month coma after arson attack to find all her kids died

Three were killed in the blaze while one died in hospital two days later.

A 35-year-old mother, who has been in a coma since a fire ripped through her home in Manchester, England in December, has awakened to be told none of her four children survived the blaze.

Michelle Pearson was critically injured in the fire and had been in a medically induced coma ever since.  But her  children Demi (15), Brandon (8) and Lacie (7) died in the blaze while three-month-old Lia died in hospital two days later.

Two 16-year-old boys, staying at the house at the time of the blaze and who cannot be named for legal reasons, escaped by jumping through a window.

Emergency services were called to the house at 5am on December 11 and arson was the alleged cause of the fire.

Zak Bolland (23), Courtney Brierley (20) and David Worrall (25) have been accused of the murder of the four children and are due to appear in the Manchester Crown Court on Monday. They have pleaded not guilty.

She is being supported by remaining family.

NOTE: Most sources give Michelle Pearson’s age as 35, but some say she is 36.
