Quinton de Kock and wife Sasha welcome birth of first child
Quinton de Kock’s recent retirement from Test cricket has left the country speechless, but not as speechless as he was with the birth of his first child!

Wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock and his wife Sasha have just welcomed their firstborn – a baby girl – into the world. This follows the cricket player’s retirement with immediate effect from Test cricket after the Proteas lost their first of three Tests against India in Centurion in December.

De Kock would not have been available for the second and third Tests due to the birth of their daughter in any case and in his retirement statement, he said that he wanted to spend more time with his growing family.
“My family is everything to me and I want the time and space to be able to be with them during this new and exciting chapter of our lives.”

The couple’s daughter, Kiara, was born on 6 January 2022, weighing 2.9kg and by the looks of things, her parents couldn’t be prouder.
