Don’t compromise on service delivery, was the message from Gauteng premier to all public servants, including DA leaders who are in charge of Tshwane and Johannesburg.

Presenting his state of the province address (Sopa), Makhura said the renewal of the Johannesburg inner city needed to be treated as an urgent matter.

He said the provincial government would work together with everyone irrespective of their political affiliation, saying residents did not expect anything but improved service delivery.

He said rival political parties had no choice but to work together or they would not get far in terms of improving the lives and living conditions of Gauteng residents.
