Zuma’s fiancée Conco now a radio DJ

She has joined KwaZulu-Natal-based radio station Vuma FM and will be discussing challenges women face on a regular basis.

Former president Jacob Zuma’s fiancée, Nonkanyiso Conco, is now a radio presenter.

She has joined KwaZulu-Natal-based radio station Vuma FM and presents a show called ‘Women in Conversation with LaConco’.

Conco is apparently not new to community radio as she has had a stint on youth show Umgungundlovu on community radio.

Vuma radio programmes manager Patrick Bogats reportedly said the station was looking for someone passionate about women’s issues.

She, according to Bogats, had more potential than the rest of the applicants when she joined the team.

Conco will outline some of the issues women face on a daily bases.

Conco, according to the Sowetan, said a month to celebrate women was not enough, as challenges women went through almost every day remained.

She said she would not be focusing on the wide range of criticism she would receive for being Zuma’s fiancée but would focus on learning and growing in the radio industry, which according to her is her first love.
