Apartment block evacuated in Sea Point as fire breaks out on 4th floor

A beachfront apartment block in Sea Point was evacuated on Wednesday after a fire broke out on the fourth floor.

The City’s Fire and Rescue Services said the affected apartment block is called Mimosa Court and is situated on Beach Road.

The City’s Theo Layne said they responded just before midday.

“Two  persons sustained minor smoke inhalation, one male and one female, were treated by ambulance staff”.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
