‘Coup plotter’ case postponed

The case involving Elvis Ramosebudi, the man accused of plotting to assassinate President Jacob Zuma, Guptas and Cabinet ministers, was on Tuesday postponed for a bail application.
Ramosebudi appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court and was charged with conspiracy to commit murder. But state prosecutor advocate Johan Bardenhorst informed Magistrate Vincent Ratshibvumo that the charge against the accused was being changed to incitement to commit murder, reported News24.
Ramosebudi, 33, is alleged to have been planning to assassinate several members of Cabinet, state-owned entities and prominent South Africans. He was arrested on Wednesday in Midrand and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
According to reports, Zuma and Gupta brothers Ajay, Rajesh and Atul are said to be named as targets in a list that includes senior government officials who would have been assassinated.
Former public protector Thuli Madonsela and former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor were also targets of the plot.
