13-year-old boy tied up and raped in Potch cemetery toilet

The teen was on his way home when he was confronted and threatened by two men, who led him to the Promosa cemetery where he was raped.

Ikageng police are investigating a rape case after a 13-year-old boy was allegedly raped in the Promosa cemetery toilets on December 22, reports Potchefstroom Herald.

Police spokesperson Sgt Kelebogile Trom said the boy was on his way home at 21:00 on December 22. Just after he had passed a car wash, an unknown man confronted him and accused the child of swearing at him.

“Before he could protest, the man threw him to the ground and kicked him. He was bleeding and still on the ground when two men picked him up and took him to the toilets at Promosa cemetery. They left him there with another man who threatened him with a knife. The suspect tied his hands behind his back and proceeded to rape him,” explained Trom.

No arrests have been made, and police investigations continue.
