WATCH: CCTV footage of alleged hit at Bryanston complex emerges

Police believe the incident could have been a hit.


A man believed to be of Serbian descent was gunned down by suspects in the Highbury residential complex in Bryanston on Tuesday afternoon.

CCTV footage of what police believe could be a hit has since emerged.

In the footage, the victim, a 59-year-old man, can be seen reversing his Mercedes Benz out of a parking bay when he is confronted by a BMW. Shots are fired at the Mercedes, and the man abruptly exits his car. At this point, one of the suspects is seen running after the man with a rifle, gunning him down and running back to the BMW. The suspects then rush out of the complex.

The BMW used in the alleged hit was later found burnt 2km away, Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed to eNCA.

It is reported by eNCA that the man who was gunned down survived another attempt on his life two years ago.

The man was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
