Live bomb discovered in KZN garden
The device, which was confirmed to be live by the SAPS bomb squad, was taken to a safe place for detonation.

Mystery surrounds the discovery of a bomb that was found in a Winston Park home in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday, April 8, Highway Mail reports.
The bomb was dug up during landscaping operations.

Alan Cutten from South African Community Crime Watch was called to the scene by the homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous.
“It was 8.55am when I received a call from him. He discovered that a bomb had been placed next to their gas cylinders.
“He first called Hillcrest SAPS who were not able to assist them, and so he contacted my wife as they were aware of my involvement with South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW).”
Cutten said through the SACCW resources he was able to get the contact number for the head of the SAPS bomb squad in Durban.
“I contacted them and arranged that he meet with the homeowner on their return as they had gone to church.
“SAPS Bomb Squad and SAPS Search and Rescue attended the scene and removed the device that was confirmed to be live. The device was taken to a safe place for detonation,” said Cutten.
He added the homeowner would like to thank the SAPS Bomb Unit and Search and Rescue Unit for their prompt and professional service.
