Heavy downpour resulted in a dam next to the R555 overflowing, causing major traffic delays in Stoffberg.

Traffic was backed up for kilometers earlier on Wednesday after the dam was flooded and water rushed over the tar road. Vehicles have now started crossing the area where the water flows over the R555, reports Middelburg Observer.

The area affected is close to the Blinkwater Centre at the Roossenekal turnoff in Mpumalanga.
Motorists have been warned to expect delays and approach the area with caution.
