Skolopad’s wors dress didn’t come cheap

The socialite spent R6 000 on her red number, but the wors and charcoal didn't come cheap either.

Socialite and professional nurse Skolopad set tongues wagging this week after attending the annual Feather Awards in Joburg dressed in a bag of boerewors. While the material for the dress was R300, she spent an extra R1 200 on the talented designer who made sure the wors stayed in tact, leaving the total to R1 500.

Her designer, Teboho Monatisa, told the Sunday World that when Skolopad came up with the idea, she wanted the wors to hang uncovered from her bra. Monatisa said he, however, suggested that she uses the wors to hide her “crucial body parts” and she liked the idea.

He also designed the red dress she changed into later that night and charged her R6 000.

Zodwa Wabantu wore a green gown that left nothing to the imagination. The dress was designed by Durban-based designer Londiwe Lombede.

The dancer reportedly told her designer to create something that would make her look classy and be able to dance in it.

Zodwa Wabantu reportedly spent R2 500 on her long dress.
