‘War room’ mastermind Ignatius Jacobs quits

PR strategist Sihle Bolani blew the lid off a 'black ops' campaign after the ANC failed to cough up millions owed to her for putting the campaign together.

Bolani brought an explosive lawsuit against the ANC, detailing how she had been approached by the party’s general manager, Ignatius Jacobs, to create a war room campaign that would disperse carefully created content ahead of the local government elections to counter the campaigns of opposition parties.

The war room plan included fake EFF and DA posters to be circulated on social media and ‘buying’ the opinions of thought leaders such as Khaya Dlanga to paint the ruling party in a positive light.

Shaka Sisulu and East Coast radio presenter Phat Joe were also fingered as having being heavily involved in the campaign.

City Press reported on Sunday that Jacobs reached a settlement with the ANC ahead of a disciplinary meeting. Jacobs has now left his position of general manager vacant.

“It is a settlement to part ways amicably,” said Jacob’s lawyer, Mfana Gwala.
