WATCH: Nzimande was warned about his axing

Twitter says the president is probably not taking Nzimande's calls following this surprise Cabinet reshuffle.

President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday reshuffled Cabinet for the second time this year, with Blade Nzimande being axed from his higher education and training minister position.

When recently asked about the planned reshuffle that would see him lose his position, Nzimande laughed and said he knew nothing about it. In fact, according to Nzimande, it was just media speculation.

Watch his response below:

These are the new appointments Zuma made to Cabinet:

  • Hlengiwe Mkhize is the Minister of Higher Education and Training
Ayanda Dlodlo is the Minister of Home Affairs
Mmamaloko Kubayi is the Minister of Communications
David Mahlobo is the Minister of Energy
Bongani Thomas Bongo is the Minister of State Security
Buti Manamela is the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training

#CabinetReshuffle is the number one trending topic on Twitter, with South Africans expressing their views on the president’s latest move.
