The South African Weather Service (Saws) has released its latest weather forecast for Wednesday, 7 May 2025.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern part of Dr. Beyers Naude Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape, otherwise you can expect fine and warm weather across the country. Here’s what you need to know.

Gauteng:

Residents of Gauteng can expect morning fog patches in the south, otherwise it will be fine and cool, but warm in the extreme north.

The region’s expected UVB sunburn index is “very high”.

Residents should take the necessary precautions against prolonged sun exposure.

Mpumalanga:

Mpumalanga residents can expect morning fog along the Highveld, otherwise it will be fine and cool to warm.

Limpopo:

The day will start with morning fog in places over the Western Bushveld, otherwise conditions will be fine and warm.

North West:

Fine and cool to warm weather awaits North West residents.

Free State:

Residents of the Free State will experience fine and cool weather conditions.

Northern Cape:

The day will be fine, windy and warm but cool in the south.

Western Cape:

Western Cape residents can expect morning fog patches along the coast and adjacent interior where it will be cool, otherwise conditions will be fine and warm. It will become partly cloudy along the south coast from the afternoon.

Eastern Cape (western half):

There will be morning fog along the coast and adjacent interior, otherwise conditions will be fine and cool, but warm over the interior. It will become partly cloudy to cloudy along the coast from the afternoon, spreading to the escarpment in the evening.

Eastern Cape (eastern half):

The day will start with morning mist along the coast and adjacent interior, otherwise it will be fine and cool, but warm over the interior. It will become partly cloudy to cloudy along the coast from the afternoon, spreading to the escarpment in the evening.

KwaZulu-Natal:

Residents of KwaZulu-Natal can look forward to fine and warm conditions, but cool in the west.

The region’s expected UVB sunburn index is “extreme”.

Residents should take the necessary precautions against prolonged sun exposure.
