Zim Tourism backtracks, says Zodwa is free to not wear panties for her act – reports

She is expected to perform at the Harare International Carnival on September 6.

The Zimabwe Tourism Authity (ZTA) has backtracked on its stance to stop controversial dancer and Durban socialite Zodwa Wabantu from performing in the country if she won’t wear panties.

Zodwa is booked for the Harare International Carnival which is taking place next month. Last week the tourism authority said Zodwa would only be allowed to perform if she wears underwear as traditional leaders would not approve of her act without one.

TimesLive reports that ZTA’s CEO Karikoga Kaseke told state broadcaster ZBC, that Zodwa was free to perform in the country as she was previously “well received in Bulawayo.”

Last week Zodwa told TshisaLIVE that she would not be told how to live her life.

“Look, people need to know that they cannot tell us how to live our lives. I love the country and the reception I’ve received, but I don’t want to be told how to do me. Why would I mess with that? Maybe it’s all just for the hype,” she said.
