New committee for Ballito Neighbourhood Watch

With 2015 coming to an end, Ballito Neighbourhood Watch closed off the year by electing a new committee for 2016.

The committee for 2015 had a successful year, with special mention on the successful completion of the project of house-numbering in Ballito with over 1500 house numbers painted outside homes. This project has assisted members carrying out patrols as well as the police and other emergency and security services.

Crime has been quite low this year comparatively which allowed the committee to focus on projects and engaging with the community on current issues.

The committee decided to reduce the number of public meetings going forward as they are not proving the most interactive and productive form of achieving their objectives. Public meetings will be scheduled when the need arises, with other communication platforms like the Whatsapp groups, newspaper articles and radio updates, sms and email being used more frequently.

The new committee for the coming year under the guidance of newly elected Chairman, Gary Frances. The new committee members for 2016 are Heike Lothian, Gary Frances, Rob Hardstone, Trenley Tilbrook, Candice Henderson, Chris Lambson, Craig Johnstone, Jason Hart and Jack Abrahams.
