Head-on collision kills one, injures four at Nsuze
Emergency workers used the Jaws of Life to free one of the drivers.
One person was killed and four others injured when two light motor vehicles collided head-on, on the R614 near Nsuze at about 6.30pm on Saturday.
IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Samantha Meyrick said one man was declared dead at the scene of the accident and a second man, the driver of one of the vehicles, was in a critical condition and had been severely entrapped.
“It took the combined effort of IPSS and the KwaDukuza Fire department to free the man from the wreckage,” said Meyrick.
One other patient was also in a critical condition and three others had moderate injuries.
They were all transported to hospital.
