The weekend’s rain has raised the dam level by 0.04% back to 25.85%.
Umgeni Water recorded 30.4 mm of rain over the weekend.
However, the drought is by no means over.
Only high volumes of rain in the catchment area (Wartburg/Greytown) will make a significant difference to Hazelmere Dam and rivers in the area.
The daily outlet of water to keep the Umdloti River going is still 0.01 cubic metres per second.
