Bullets fly after La Lucia hijacking

One of the men involved in a hijacking in La Lucia earlier this afternoon is still at large.

A HIJACKER was shot in the head while another was apprehended after a shootout in Glen Anil Street this afternoon (11 February).  According to Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell, three men hijacked and held up a resident at gunpoint on Davallen Avenue (La Lucia) just after 5pm.

The men, driving in a getaway vehicle as well as the hijacked vehicle, were then spotted by a patrol car on Glen Anil Street.

A high speed chase ensued and the suspects opened fire on the pursuing officers, who in turn fired back.

“The men abandoned the vehicles near the bottom of Glen Anil Street and ran into the bushes. One of the hijackers was shot in the head, but is still alive. Another suspect was later apprehended after our dog unit searched the area. The third suspect is still at large. The men were all carrying handguns,” Powell said.
