Two injured in M4 crash

One vehicle is said to have careened into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision.

TWO people were injured in a head on collision on the M4, Ruth First Highway in Durban North earlier this evening.

Reports from the scene, said Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, indicated that the accident occurred when a motorist, travelling towards the city, lost control of his vehicle and careened into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with another vehicle traveling on the north bound carriage way.

“Emergency care practitioners arrived on the scene near the Swapo Road bridge, shortly after 7pm, to find the injured clambering to free themselves from the badly wrecked vehicles,” he said.

Two men sustained moderate injuries while a third suffered only minor injuries.

“They were treated and stabilised on scene before being transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” he said.
